Day 1: Transfer from Entebbe to Murchison Falls National Park

Your journey begins with a drive northwest through lush countryside, past roadside markets, farms, and small towns. As you approach Murchison Falls National Park, the landscape opens into savannah and the Nile River’s calm expanse. Before checking into your lodge, you visit the top of Murchison Falls, where the world’s longest river is forced through a narrow rock gap, exploding downward in a thunderous cascade. The power and beauty of the falls set the tone for the adventure ahead.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive & Afternoon Nile Boat Cruise

The day begins with a sunrise game drive on the northern plains, where wildlife is most abundant. You may spot elephants roaming in family herds, giraffes striding across the grasslands, buffaloes grazing, lions resting in the shade, and various antelope species feeding in the morning light. After lunch, the afternoon unfolds on a boat cruise along the Nile, leading you upstream toward the base of Murchison Falls. Hippos bob in the water, crocodiles sun themselves on the banks, and elephants come to drink—creating exceptional photographic moments. The day ends with the dramatic backdrop of the falls towering above the river.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, the journey continues south through rural landscapes, tea plantations, and crater lakes as you approach the primate capital of Uganda—Kibale Forest. The cooler, denser forest environment signals a transition from savannah to rainforest. Upon arrival, your lodge offers a peaceful setting surrounded by bird calls and forest breezes. The evening is perfect for relaxing and preparing for the next day’s chimpanzee experience.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary

Morning begins with a trek into Kibale Forest, where the hoots, screams, and rustling above guide you toward a chimpanzee community. Once located, you observe them socializing, grooming, feeding, and interacting. Their expressive faces and lively behaviour make this encounter vivid and unforgettable. In the afternoon, you explore Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-led project home to monkeys, birds, butterflies, and tropical vegetation. The wetland walk complements your primate experience beautifully.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park & Afternoon Relaxation

Today’s drive leads you through the crater lakes region, unveiling panoramic viewpoints and volcanic features, before descending into Queen Elizabeth National Park. The landscape widens into plains dotted with acacia trees and herds of wildlife. The afternoon is left for relaxed lodge time, taking in savannah views and the distant Rwenzori Mountains as your backdrop.

Day 6: Morning Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Safari

Dawn ushers in a classic safari experience across the Kasenyi plains, where predators and grazers are often active. Lions may be spotted hunting, elephants roam gracefully, and buffaloes gather in large numbers. After lunch, the Kazinga Channel boat safari brings you close to hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and a rich array of birds along the water’s edge. Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi via Ishasha Sector

The journey continues south toward the remote Ishasha region, famous for its rare population of tree-climbing lions. With curiosity and patience, you scan the fig trees that rise along the savannah. After exploring Ishasha, the road ascends into the cool, mountainous landscapes of the Kigezi Highlands before entering Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Day 8: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

The morning begins with a briefing at the park headquarters before you set off into the lush rainforest. The trek may take minutes or several hours, depending on the gorillas’ movements, but each step through the vines and ancient vegetation builds anticipation. When you encounter your gorilla family, the world becomes still. You witness the commanding presence of the silverback, the curiosity of young gorillas, and the gentle affection between mothers and infants. The hour spent with them feels deeply personal and emotionally powerful. After returning to the lodge, the rest of the day is for rest and reflection.

Day 9: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi & Lakeside Relaxation

After the intensity of the gorilla trek, you transfer to the serene shores of Lake Bunyonyi. The terraced highlands open into expansive views as the lake appears below—calm, deep, and dotted with islands. The afternoon is ideal for relaxation, canoeing, or taking a gentle boat ride to explore some of the lake’s story-rich islands. The cool breeze and mountain scenery create the perfect retreat before your final journey back.

Day 10: Return to Kampala or Entebbe

The journey back begins after breakfast, taking you through southwestern Uganda’s scenic highlands, farms, and bustling town centers. As you approach Kampala or Entebbe, the memories of gorillas in the mist, chimps in the treetops, and wildlife along vast savannah plains settle into a rich and lasting story.
