Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Murchison falls national park.

On the first day of your ten-day safari through Uganda, depending on where you are, you will be greeted by Muhiga safaris guide , who will give you an overview of the safari before you set off for Murchison Falls National Park, which is situated in the country’s northwest. You will travel to Ziwa rhino sanctuary for a stopover to track rhinos, and then you will continue on to Masindi for lunch. You will travel to Murchison Falls National Park after lunch, where you will check into a lodge for the evening and spend the night

Day 2: game drive in Murchison falls national park and afternoon boat cruise on the nile

On the second day of your ten-day Uganda primates and wildlife safari, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge after an early breakfast so you can go on a morning game drive and see the early risers. Large herds of elephants, buffalo, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, warthogs, giraffes, lions, leopards, and a variety of bird species can also be spotted during the game drive. You will return to the lodge for lunch following the game drive.

Lunch will be served in the afternoon, and then you’ll take an exhilarating boat ride to the base of the falls, where you can see antelope, buffalo, elephants, and crocodiles in their large watery herds, as well as aquatic birds like hornbills, cormorants, kingfishers, and bee-eaters. You will drive back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay following the boat cruise.

Day 3:  transfer to Kibale forest national park around fort portal .

On the third day of your ten-day Uganda  primates and wildlife safari, you will check out of the lodge and link  up with your Muhiga safaris  guide  to make the ensure you embark on a drive to  to Kibale National Park, which begins with an early breakfast. The entire day’s tour offers breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside, traditional homesteads, the Rwenzori Mountains, tea plantations, and local people. Along the way, you’ll stop for lunch and to stretch your legs and take pictures. You will proceed to the lodge upon arrival, check in for supper, and spend the night there.

Day 4: chimpanzee trekking in Kibale forest national park  and transfer to queen Elizabeth national park.

On the fourth day of your ten-day Uganda primates and wildlife safari, you will have an early breakfast, check out of the lodge, and meet your driver guide at the Kanyachu Visitors Center for a lecture on the guidelines and expectations for chimpanzee trekking. Following the  briefing , a chimpanzee family to hike with and a knowledgeable park guide who is familiar with the forest’s routes will be assigned to you. Because chimpanzees are nocturnal creatures, trekking through Kibale Forest National Park can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 4 hours, depending on where they are. Once you find the chimpanzees, you will spend an hour with them in their natural habitat, during which you can take pictures and videos with a flashless camera, learn more about their lifestyle and behaviors, and watch them eat. You will hike back to the park headquarters after your hour-long interaction with the chimpanzees, where you will meet your driving guide and begin your trip to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will have lunch en route and be treated to breathtaking views of the Rwenzori Mountains, Lake George, and tea plantations, among other things. When you arrive, you’ll go on an evening game drive in the park, where you’ll see creatures like warthogs, waterbucks, buffalos, elephants, and Uganda kobs. You will go to the lodge to check in, have supper, and spend the night after the game drive.

Day 5: game drive in queen elizabeth national park and  boat cruise on kazinga channel.

On the fifth day of your ten-day Uganda primates and wildlife safari, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge after an early breakfast so you may go on a morning game drive or go lion tracking in the Kasenyi plains. The big four mammals—lions, leopards, elephants, and buffaloes—as well as other creatures like waterbucks, bushbucks, and Uganda kobs, as well as a variety of bird species, will all be visible to you during the game drive. You will return to the lodge for lunch following the game drive.

Lunch will be served, and then you will go to the landing area next to Mweya Safari Lodge for an amazing boat ride down the 40 km-long Kazinga Channel, which links Lake George and Lake Edward. You will be able to see large groups of hippos and Nile crocodiles in the water, as well as buffalo, elephants, warthogs, and water birds like yellow-billed storks, cormorants, hornbills, kingfishers, and fish eagles, among others, during the two-hour boat ride. Along with taking stunning photos, you can witness the fisherman along the shoreline getting ready for nighttime fishing. Following the boat ride, you’ll take an evening game drive to see some of the animals you missed during the morning drive. You’ll then head back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6 : Transfer to Bwindi forest national park

On the sixth day of your ten-day Uganda primates and wildlife safari, you will check out of the lodge after breakfast and meet your driver guide to make the travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to half of the world’s mountain gorillas and the most popular gorilla destination. You will stop at the Ishasha region in the southern portion of Queen Elizabeth National Park during the three to four-hour drive. The Ishasha region is well-known for its tree-climbing lions, who can be seen during a game drive lounging up in the branches of acacia and fig trees. Other creatures found in the Ishasha sector include Uganda kobs, waterbucks, buffaloes, and elephants. Following the wildlife drive, you will eat lunch before traveling to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where you will check into a lodge for the night and dinner.

Day 7:  gorilla trekking in Bwindi Forest national park

On the seventh day of your ten-day Uganda primates and safari, you will have an early breakfast. You will then pack a lunch, and your driver guide will come get you from the resort and take you to the park headquarters for an orientation on the guidelines and wildlife expectations for gorilla trekking. Following the briefing, you will be paired with a gorilla family to hike with and a park ranger who is well-versed in both gorilla behavior and forest routes. The duration of gorilla trekking in the impenetrable national park of Bwindi varies from 30 to 8 hours, contingent upon the gorillas’ movements as they seek food in different locations. You will see chimpanzees, forest elephants, buffalo, l’hoest monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, and several bird species, including African harrier hawks, crowned hornbills, African green pigeons, and blue-headed sunbirds, while trekking. You will have the opportunity to spend an hour with the gorillas in their natural habitat after they are located. During this time, you will be able to witness the gorillas going about their daily lives—eating, nursing, playing, and taking beautiful pictures and videos to share with family and friends back home. You will trek back to the park headquarters after your hour-long encounter with the gentle giants, where you will receive a certificate for your gorilla trekking experience. You will then meet your driving guide to make the trip to the lodge for dinner, an overnight stay, and some relaxation in the evening.

Day 8:  Transfer to lake Bunyonyi.

The eighth day of your ten-day Uganda primates and wildlife safari will start with breakfast. Upon checking out of the lodge , you will meet your driver guide and head to the Kabale district’s Lake Bunyonyi. The second-deepest lake in Africa, behind Lake Tanganyika in Tanzania, is Lake Bunyonyi, the freshwater lake in Uganda. With 29 major islands and a variety of bird species, the lake’s name literally translates to “place of little birds” in the local tongue. After traveling for approximately three hours, you will arrive at Lake Bunyonyi and embark on an incredible canoe ride where you will have the opportunity to explore some of the lake’s 29 islands, including Punishment Island; observe bird species such as the Slender Billed Bagla fetch, African Kingfisher, African Harrier Hawk, Hadada Ibis, Black Heron, Pin-Tailed Whyder, Golden Back Weaver, Grey Shrike, Cardinal Woodpecker, Levillant Cuckoo, Grey Crowned Crane, and others; enjoy breathtaking views of the terraced farmlands, Kigezi hills, and traditional homesteads, among others. You will drive to the lodge for lunch after the canoe journey. There, you can unwind or partake in extra activities like a nature walk or a community visit, which will allow you to mingle with the Bakiga and Batwa people. You will spend the night and eat back at the lodge in the evening.

Day 9:   Transfer to lake Bunyonyi and do  boat cruise.

After a leisurely breakfast on day nine of your ten-day Uganda primates and wildlife safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet your guide to begin your transfer to Lake Mburo National Park, which will pass through the towns of Kabale and Ntungamo. While on a Uganda Safari, you will check into the lodge upon arrival and eat lunch.

Following lunch, you’ll take a boat ride on Lake Mburo, where you may see wildlife including warthogs, buffaloes, antelopes sipping water from the lake’s banks, hippos and crocodiles swimming, and water birds like fish eagles, cormorants, and kingfishers, among others. The boat ride takes approximately 2 hour and following you will have a short drive in the park where you will observe creatures like zebras, buffaloes, impalas, eland among others. You will proceed to the lodge, have dinner, and spend the night there following the wildlife drive.

Day 10:  Morning game drive in lake Mburo National Park and transfer to Kampala.

On the final day of your ten-day Uganda primates and wildlife safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet your guide for an early game drive around the park after a leisurely breakfast. Among the many wildlife species, you can see while on the game drive are giraffes, warthogs, huge forest hogs, waterbucks, impala, and zebras.

Following the game drive, you will depart the park by car and return to Kampala, stopping for lunch near the Equator along the way. Following lunch, you will resume your journey to Kampala, arriving in the early evening. Your driver guide will drop you off at any recommended location or at Entebbe International Airport in preparation for your departure flight.
