Day 1: Arrival in Kigali – Transfer to Goma, DRC
Arrive at Kigali International Airport, where a GORILLATREKKINGEXPEDITIONS representative welcomes you. After a short city briefing, enjoy a scenic drive to the Gisenyi–Goma border (Grande Barrière), cross into Congo, and transfer to Mikeno Lodge inside Virunga National Park.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Virunga National Park
After breakfast, transfer to Bukima Patrol Post for a ranger briefing. Begin your mountain gorilla trek, guided by experts through dense bamboo and rainforest vegetation. Once the gorilla family is located, spend one magical hour observing their behavior — a rare and emotional encounter.

Day 3: Optional Nyiragongo Volcano Hike / Transfer to Uganda
Early breakfast and optional hike to Mount Nyiragongo, the world’s largest lava lake. For those not hiking, transfer to Bunagana border, crossing into Uganda. Continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to half of the world’s mountain gorillas.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After an early breakfast, join your ranger guide for a second gorilla trek — this time in Uganda’s thick rainforest. The experience contrasts with Virunga, offering a new terrain and different gorilla groups.
In the evening, enjoy a Batwa cultural performance, learning about the forest’s ancient human inhabitants.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
