Day By Day / 7 Days Uganda primates and wildlife safari.

Day 1: Transfer from Entebbe or Kampala to Kibale Forest National Park

Your journey begins with a scenic drive toward western Uganda, passing through lush countryside, rolling hills, tea plantations, and crater lakes. By early afternoon, the road leads into the cool, forested landscapes of Kibale Forest—home to the world’s highest density of chimpanzees. You settle into a lodge nestled on the edge of the forest, where the sounds of birds, primates, and rustling leaves create a serene atmosphere. The evening is spent relaxing, preparing for your first primate adventure the next day.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary

The morning starts with a detailed briefing before you enter the heart of Kibale Forest. The trek leads through thick vegetation and towering trees, where the familiar hoots and calls of chimpanzees echo above. When you locate a troop, you spend time observing them as they feed, groom, communicate, and swing from branch to branch with effortless agility. In the afternoon, the adventure continues at Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-led conservation area rich in birdlife and home to species like red colobus monkeys, black-and-white colobus, and blue monkeys. By evening, the forest’s cool air signals another restful night in your lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park & Afternoon Game Drive

After breakfast, you drive south through the dramatic crater lakes region and descend into the open plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park. As you approach the savannah, the landscape expands into golden grasslands dotted with acacia trees. After settling into your lodge, the afternoon game drive introduces you to the park’s rich wildlife: elephants wandering near waterholes, buffaloes grazing in large herds, kob and waterbuck feeding in the plains, and the possibility of spotting lions resting in the shade. The day ends with a beautiful sunset casting warm colours across the savannah

Day 4: Morning Game Drive & Boat Safari on the Kazinga Channel

Dawn brings the plains to life, and your morning game drive explores the Kasenyi area, a prime hunting ground for lions. The early hours offer excellent chances of seeing predators and large herds of grazers. After lunch, the afternoon unfolds on the Kazinga Channel—a natural waterway connecting Lakes Edward and George. Here, hippos crowd the banks, crocodiles bask in the sun, elephants gather at the water’s edge, and hundreds of birds create a vibrant spectacle. The slow cruise allows you to observe wildlife at close range, making it one of the most memorable experiences of the safari.

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi via Ishasha Sector

The day begins with a drive through the wild and lesser-explored Ishasha sector, famous for its rare tree-climbing lions. Fig trees dot the landscape, and with luck, you may see these lions draped across branches, surveying the plains below. After the game drive, the road climbs into the highlands, leading into the dense, ancient rainforest of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You arrive at your lodge surrounded by misty mountains, lush vegetation, and the deep silence of the gorilla kingdom. The evening is peaceful as you prepare for the following day’s trek.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Mist drifts through the forest as you gather at the ranger station for your briefing. Soon after, rangers guide you into the thick jungle, following fresh tracks and listening for the distant signs of gorilla activity. The trek is immersive and exciting as you navigate vines, slopes, and forest pathways. When you finally meet your gorilla family, the moment becomes unforgettable. Silverbacks display quiet dominance, juveniles tumble and play, and mothers cradle their infants with tender care. The hour spent with them is deeply emotional and often life-changing. After trekking back, the afternoon is left for rest and quiet reflection.

Day 7: Return to Kampala or Entebbe

The final day begins with a relaxed breakfast before starting the journey back through Uganda’s beautiful countryside. The drive retraces rolling hills, villages, plantations, and the region’s rich rural charm. By the time you reach Kampala or Entebbe, the memories of gorillas in the mist, chimps in the treetops, and wildlife along the savannah settle into a lasting, vivid record of your 7-day safari through Uganda’s most treasured landscapes.
