Day 1: Arrival in Kigali & City Exploration

Your safari begins in Kigali, one of Africa’s cleanest and most welcoming capitals. After arrival, you embark on a guided exploration of the city—visiting landmarks such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial, local craft markets, and cultural centres showcasing Rwanda’s art and heritage. Kigali’s leafy avenues, rolling hills, and vibrant neighbourhoods create a warm introduction to the country. By evening, you settle into your hotel and prepare for the journey to the mountains.

Day 2: Kigali to Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast, you drive north toward Volcanoes National Park. The journey reveals enchanting scenery—terraced hillsides, misty valleys, and the dramatic volcanic silhouettes of the Virunga Mountains. Upon arrival in Musanze, you check into your lodge surrounded by bamboo forests and cool highland air. Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

The day begins early as you head to the park headquarters for your gorilla trekking briefing. Soon after, rangers guide you into the forest, climbing through bamboo zones and lush Hagenia woodlands until you reach your assigned gorilla family.
The moment you encounter the gorillas is unforgettable—a silverback watching calmly, juveniles tumbling through vines, and mothers tending to their young. The hour spent with them is emotional and transformative. After descending from the forest, you return to your lodge for a restful afternoon surrounded by the quiet beauty of the Virunga slopes.

Day 4: Golden Monkey Trekking & Transfer to Lake Kivu

This morning offers a lively and joyful wildlife experience—golden monkey trekking. These energetic primates leap rapidly through the bamboo forest, their golden coats flashing between the trees.
After the trek, you drive toward Lake Kivu, one of Africa’s most beautiful lakes. Upon arrival at the lakeside town of Gisenyi, you settle into your waterfront lodge where breezes, palm-fringed views, and gentle waves create a peaceful retreat. The evening is spent relaxing along the shoreline.

Day 5: Lake Kivu Relaxation & Return to Kigali

Your final day unfolds calmly along the shores of Lake Kivu. You may enjoy a relaxed boat ride, explore nearby islands, or simply savour the tranquil morning views. Later, you begin the scenic drive back to Kigali, passing through the rolling hills that define Rwanda’s landscape.
